Real Madrid is the most successful European Competition club. Real Madrid are one of the most prestigious clubs in Europe, having won 11 European Cups. Their European success began in 1950 when Madrid won five consecutive European Cups and also won the Primera Division five times in seven years. This team is considered to be one of the best ever, with players like Ferenc Puskas and Alfredo Di Stefano. Real Madrid jerseys are among the top five most popular in any season. This is due to their global popularity.
Real Madrid’s history began in 1897, when a few students and academics founded Football Club Sky. The club’s name was changed to Madrid Football Club in 1902. In 1920, King Alfonso XIII gave the title Real to the club.
Santiago Bernabeu Yeste was elected president of the football club in 1945. At this time, the stadium was renamed in honor of the president. The stadium’s name has not changed since then. Madrid was the second most valuable sports organisation in the world, and the club has grown over the years. In 6 of the 7 last seasons, Real Madrid’s kids’ kits ranked among the top three bestsellers.
Real Madrid have won 35 La Liga titles domestically. It’s not surprising that Real Madrid have won so many trophies with global stars like Zinedine Zidane and Karim Benzema, Raul, Roberto Carlos, and of course, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real Madrid Home Shirt
Real Madrid has worn a white shirt as its home shirt since 1955. There was one season, however, when both the shirt and shorts weren’t white. Quaseda and Escobal were on a trip through England in 1925 and were inspired by Corinthian, an English team. They wore black shorts to recreate their look. After heavy defeats to bitter rivals Barcelona throughout the season, President Pareges decided that they would wear a white kit again, claiming that the change of strip brought bad luck.
Real Madrid Away and third kits
Real Madrid’s away kit has almost always been either blue, black, or purple. Real Madrid wore a black away shirt on their journey to the 2002 European Cup final. This was worn by Real Madrid during the trip to Glasgow, where Zidane scored a famous left foot volley that clinched the title for Los Blancos.

Florentino Perez was elected president in 2000. With his tenure came what we now call ‘Los Galacticos. Real saw the arrival of Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo , and David Beckham, which sent Madrid shirt sales soaring.
These players were all popular choices for customers wearing Real Madrid shirts, but none of them have been as successful as the number of shirts sold with Cristiano Ronaldo’s name and number.
Raul, another Madrid legend number 7, has kept his legendary status as one of Real Madrid’s greatest ever. He is also a popular name on current Real Madrid shirts.
You can also personalise your own number and name if you are unable to choose from the many talents available such as Benzema, Luka Modric or Vinicius. There are many Real Madrid training kits available, including official tracksuits and training jerseys.
Real Madrid Shirt History
Adidas has been the main supplier of Real Madrid jerseys since 1980. From 1980 until 1985, the German-based sports brand provided kits before Real Madrid moved to Hummel & Kelme. In 1998, Adidas returned to Madrid and remains today the club’s manufacturer for football shirts and merchandise. Real Madrid chose to not have a sponsor on their shirt in 2001/02, promoting the club’s website instead.
