In recent years, United has mainly settled for Navy, White or Black as their away kit. In the 93/94 season, an all-black away strip was introduced. This allowed fans to buy their away kit and 3rd shirt all at once. This design was very popular with United fans, but it has not been replicated since.

The famous grey kit was one of the most iconic kits. Sir Alex Ferguson, United’s manager, demanded that the kit be changed at the half-time break as he believed the players couldn’t see one another. It was never seen again, suffice to say.

United, formerly known as Newton Heath in the beginning, had a green-and-gold top. The club’s colors changed to red when John Henry Davies, an investor in the club, changed the name to Manchester United in 1902. The home shirt has been the most associated with the Red Devils since 1902.

United has had many kit suppliers. Umbro was one of them during the 1990’s. After that, the club entered into a long-lasting and successful partnership agreement with Nike. In 2015, Adidas was signed to Man United’s first kit manufacturer, in a 750million / 10-year deal.
